Use of probiotics, friendly bacteria that are common to the human gastrointestinal tract, was found to help reduce the severity and risk of developing atopic dermatitis in young infants.

Atopic dermatitis is skin condition that is becoming more common in infants. It is highly reactive and inflammatory and many times may be associated with allergens including certain foods and is also commonly associated with gastrointestinal dysfunction.
